De Beers – Diamond Foundation Course

We are happy and glad to announce the collaboration of IIG with De Beers Group Institute of Diamonds. It is our collaborative aim to provide the highest quality diamond education to the Indian audience. International Institute of Gemology – an institute that holds a reputation of delivering quality knowledge of gems and jewellery for over 50 years, is glad to collaborate and promote education courses from De Beers Group Institute of Diamonds. It is a combined goal to make diamond education of the highest standard readily available to all students to the Indian audience. This partnership aims to introduce Indian students to a variety of De Beers Institute of Diamonds courses that cover all stages of the diamond pipeline. All of the courses are designed by experts from across De Beers Group, and IIG is proud to have been selected as a delivery partner for some laboratory-based aspects. These courses give an opportunity to strengthen the foothold of individuals in the diamond industry and accelerate their growth, now and in the future. DIAMOND FOUNDATION COURSE The courses will cover an extensive study about the entire diamond value chain from its formation to sales. It is targeted towards aspiring students and retailers who wish to extend their knowledge in this domain. IIG believe that this online course from De Beers Group, will help transform how diamond education is delivered and create more opportunities in the industry. FUTURE COLLABORATION To further enhance the learning journey of students within the diamond industry, IIG and De Beers Group will shortly announce future activities focused on a partnership delivery approach for laboratory-based courses. Meaning that students will get wider access to courses from De Beers Group Institute of Diamonds, delivered locally via IIG. COURSE STRUCTURE Eight modules with approximately 37 hours of learning, cover: Diamond Growth and Properties Journey to the Surface and Diamond Exploration Diamond Mining Rough Diamond Sorting, Pricing and Selling Diamond Cutting and Polishing Polished Diamonds – the 4cs Jewellery Design, Marketing and Selling Simulants, Synthetic Diamonds and Treatments
